My name is Becca Hoyer and I'm currently a student at Arcadia University studying Graphic Design and Art Education, expecting to graduate in May of 2026. Having completed much coursework in both Graphic Design and Art Education at this point, I see how both pursuits align closely with my passions for creative problem-solving as well as helping others do the same. Within the past few years, I’ve taken Digital Imaging, Introduction to Graphic Design, Typography, Interactive Design, Brand Identity and Visual Communications Graphic Design courses and through those, I’ve had the opportunity to create work designed for “clients” with the hopes of helping their business or organization in some way. I've also completed two pre-student teaching fieldwork experiences and am soon getting started with my full-time student-teaching experience.
On the design side of things, I particularly enjoy working on logo & branding, marketing, graphics and collateral design, but I have some familiarity with UX/UI design as well. Software that I’ve worked in includes: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Portfolio and Premiere Pro, Procreate, and Figma. Additional applications and tools I’m familiar with are Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Sites and Classroom, Canvas, Zoom and Canva.
As far as teaching goes, so far I've observed and/or taught students from 2nd grade all the way up to college and I've learned so much. Mostly, that there is so much to be learned from each other! In my own K-12 experience, the art room was always a sanctuary of peace and creativity amidst the rest of my academics, and I hope to cultivate a similar environment for my future students, the next generation of artists and creatives.
